StyleMama Rebecca Rankin – Reinvent Yourself

This week’s StyleMama believes that there comes a time in a mother’s life when she’s able to reinvent herself. Many professional women reprioritize their lives when they start a family with the focus being their children. Rebecca says when children enter school full-time that it’s an opportunity to focus on yourself and reinvent who you are. She adds, “You can take the skills you learned from motherhood and combine them with a newly discovered passion, giving yourself the opportunity to start-over and do what you really love.”

Home: Venice Beach, CA
Age: 40-ish
Children: Boy/Girl twins who are 6-years old.

Occupation: Since her children were born, Rebecca has mainly been a full-time mother, but does occasionally work in media production.  She started out in entertainment and news television doing interviews with countless celebrities and later working in production, as well as creating behind-the-scenes footage for various movies.

How does she look so damn good?
Daily exercise and eating healthy are a necessity for this StyleMama. Rebecca loves boxing, hiking and running, and reflects that she should do more yoga because she knows how beneficial it is. Eating healthy is especially important because it sets a good example for her children while also ensuring that she gets her daily dose of anti-oxidants. While she doesn’t drink alchohol, she’s not completely vice-free – Rebecca is addicted to her morning coffee!

What’s she wearing?
T-shirt: Miharayasuhiro from GUILD on Abbot Kinney (Venice, CA)
Jeans: Mother
Boots: Humanoid from Heist on Abbot Kinney
Watch: Cartier Balloon Bleu
Bag: Gucci
Necklace: Helen Ficalora with some family charms thrown in for good measure.
Bracelets: A collection.

Her Style:
“I like clothes that I can wash and are comfortable, but have a little edge. The T-shirts have to be original and my favorite jewelry pieces have to be in  different metals and textures. I try to get out of my flip-flops before I leave the house, unless they’re Gucci, which I love. I think watches, shoes, scarves and bags can completely transform a look. I tend to shop out of LA, in NYC and abroad because I don’t like when people know where my clothes are from – a big problem in a city like LA.” –Rebecca Rankin
