This week’s StyleMama says it’s important for moms not to neglect their passions. Cathy-Anne McClintock has worked hard to build a successful music career and recently launched a cookie company, which keeps her busy and fulfilled. She says moms need to find a way to incorporate the things they love into their lives instead of giving them up once they have kids. For Cathy-Anne having her own business has never been about making lots of money. ”I’ve been baking since I was 8 and feel fortunate to be able to do this as a business. At the same time, working from home (when possible!) allows me to be around for my children and husband. My daughter is 12 and at a point where she is turning more and more to her friends for advice. For those rare moments when she needs my input, I want to make sure I’m there for her. ”
Home: Long Beach, CA (also proud Canadian)

How does she look so damn good?
Yes, I wanted to know how a woman baking cookies with butter and sugar can look like she’s been at a gym all day? Cathy-Anne says she moderates the bad stuff without depriving herself. She takes advantage of a 7-mile seawalk by her home where she roller-blades or walks her dogs. She also tries to squeeze in as many yoga sessions as possible but it’s something she’d love to dedicate more time to. As for nutrition, she doesn’t take vitamins but religiously takes spirulina and eats a lot of fruits and vegetables and very little meat.
What’s she wearing?
Jeans: True Religion
Necklace: Love Heals
Pearl Ring: Jan Michaels
Paris Ring: Liz Palacio
Earrings: Kendra Scott
Strap: Jeri Designs
“My style is classic, bohemian, rocker-cowgirl! Some of my favorites pieces of clothing include: long flowy tops, my butter soft 3/4 sleeve black leather jacket hoodie from Bird, my True Religion jeans(I have too many) and flowery, vintage Old Gringo cowboy boots that I got from South by South West last year in Austin, TX. I really love my Love Heals necklace that I designed….but, truthfully, I am rarely out of my Lululemons and Haviana flip Flops! My go to designers are Elizabeth & James and Free People.” –Cathy-Anne McClintock
