Adopting a child is not for the faint of heart, but one mother of six has made it her mission to make it easier for families to connect with orphaned children around the globe.
After adopting a young boy from Ethopia, Kelly Putty, found that several other children in the orphanage needed families and sent emails out to her circle of contacts. Soon those children were also placed with parents in the United States. She didn’t stop there. She setup the Ordinary Hero Foundation to reach out to potential adopters as she saw that many small adoption agencies in foreign countries didn’t always have the means to get the message out about their children.
Kelly is an extraordinary human being. At 16 she was brutally raped by two men and later her injuries brought on cancer. Despite all this, she managed to find it in her heart and through her belief in God to overcome her ordeal and forgive her attackers.
Kelly Putty is my hero for not only making a difference in the lives of so many children, but showing us all that no matter how consumed we are with our own lives and problems to find it within ourselves to give back.
“I was once a child in need myself because of circumstances that were out of my control. I now make it my mission to open the eyes of Ordinary people to the needs of children both locally and abroad who need Heroes to step up and help them in their time of need.” – Kelly Putty, Founder/Director – Ordinary Hero Foundation
“Our Mission is to inspire and empower ORDINARY people to make an extraordinary difference in the life of a child in need.” – Ordinary Hero Foundation
